This year’s Legal Marketing Association annual meeting was held from April 13-15 in San Diego, CA. I just read a summary of one of the sessions, conducted by leading general counsel. The session was summarized by Frank Strong, http://businessoflawblog.com/author/frank-strong/ communications director with the LexisNexis software division located on NC State’s Centennial Campus in Raleigh, NC.
Mr. Strong’s takeaways from the session can be summarized in four key points:
- Corporate legal is taking more work in-house.
- GCs are consolidating law firm panels.
- Efficiency and the metrics to prove it matter.
- GCs are willing to pay for value.
Here is a link to the full transcript of Mr. Strong’s article http://businessoflawblog.com/2015/04/lma15-panel-gc/, which provides more details to each of the points above.
