This year’s Legal Marketing Association annual meeting was held from April 13-15 in San Diego, CA. I just read a summary of one of the sessions, conducted by leading general counsel. The session was summarized by Frank Strong, communications director with the LexisNexis software division located on NC State’s Centennial Campus in Raleigh, NC.

Mr. Strong’s takeaways from the session can be summarized in four key points:

  • Corporate legal is taking more work in-house.
  • GCs are consolidating law firm panels.
  • Efficiency and the metrics to prove it matter.
  • GCs are willing to pay for value.
